This is partly due to the fact that the Charentais has a high Brix index or measure of sweetness. * The flavor of this fruit is very smooth and rich! * This open-pollinated cantaloupe melon has been a favorite of French chefs for years. It also served up at breakfast time and is a wonderful complement to other foods. Also, aside from the great taste of this melon, it has many health benefits as it is a rich source of the antioxidants and Vitamin A, C and B6.* The Non-GMO Charentais Melon was developed in the Charentes region of France in the 1920s. The Charentais has a smooth, round and creamy green-gray appearance which is attractive.
