I ship all plants BARE ROOT, meaning your plants will be freshly dug the morning I send to you, wrapped in wet toweling, then placed in plastic zip bags for shipping. You will receive 1 sapling DORMANT Bare Root that will be trimmed Dwarf Burning Bush bare root plants Burning Bush have rich green foliage in summer and in fall they turn pink to red. These are excellent and add color to your landscaping also they make a great hedge. If planting these for a hedge they should be planted 2-3' apart. At maturity and left natural these can reach up to 5' in height. These are a considered a slow growing plant 12" per year or less. You can prune the new growth of these every year to keep them at a desired height. These are hardy in zones 3-8, full sun to partial shade, grows in any soil from sand to clay. After choosing the appropriate location for your tree, dig a hole 2-3 widths larger than the root ball of the tree. The depth of the hole should enable the tree to sit at the same level it did before it was dug up. The key to this is finding the original soil line on the trunk of the tree to line up with the surface of the ground. Center the roots of the tree in the hole and begin to backfill the hole. Do not add any soil amendments: You do not want to burn the roots of your new tree. Straighten the tree as needed and then continue to add the rest of the soil, tamping gently to remove any air bubbles in the soil. Water your tree well. Be sure to water the tree for the first 5 days after planting; after that, water the tree based upon your local weather conditions.
